A contract lobbying team can plug you into the process as soon as the contract is signed, without the time and overhead of recruiting staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Breadth of expertise.<\/strong> Contract professionals bring relationships across agencies, committees, and local governments that can\u2019t be replicated overnight.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Lower initial investment.<\/strong> You avoid the salary, benefits, and infrastructure costs of a permanent hire while still gaining strategic coverage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Flexibility.<\/strong> You can scale your engagement up or down depending on the political environment or organizational priorities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When to Build (In-House Later):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Steady, predictable issues.<\/strong> If your organization constantly faces legislative or regulatory action, having an internal staffer keeps focus sharp.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Dedicated attention. <\/strong>There is no substitute for an in-house staffer who wakes up and eats, sleeps, and breathes an issue. Contract lobbyists are great, but they have other clients who have other demands on a day-to-day basis. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Integration with strategy.<\/strong> An internal role can align policy goals directly, and on a daily basis, with marcomm, operations, and member services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Long-term visibility.<\/strong> A permanent presence signals that your organization is a fixture in the policy arena.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the highly engaged organization, a combination of both is a perfect marriage.
