Some people think the “Hello, World!” concept is hokey, but it goes way back to the beginning of computer programming. It’s still used to prove your program is executing correctly.
As one computer hacker blog states: “Every programmer remembers their first ‘Hello World’ as a rite of passage. Many might not realize it, but each time a programmer feels the sweet feeling of triumph in clearing the first hurdle of programming with the words ‘Hello World,’, they’re experiencing a moment that transcends history.”
(I still remember my first “Hello, World!” experience as a computer science student 30 years ago.)
